The chair is definitely not foldable, but space-wise efficient with the bottom step folding into the chair seamlessly. The new purchase came with a piece missing or misfitting, but the company handled it promptly with a replacement chair shipped and no return fuss. One user from 6 years ago had a good experience with the chair out of the box. The chair comes without arms, but apparently, a user with woodworking skills could add arms by attaching them to the grounding tubes beneath the seat and back.
