Pentax Battery Grips D-BG6 Editorial Review

The Pentax D-BG6 Digital Camera Battery Grip for the K1 and K1 Mark II has garnered positive reviews from users who appreciate its significant enhancement of the camera's ergonomics and functionality. Many customers note that it greatly improves the handling of the camera, particularly during vertical shooting, thanks to the additional controls and shutter release that the grip provides. The weather-sealed Construction aligns with Pentax's reputation for durability, allowing photographers to shoot in various environmental conditions. Users find that the grip's ability to hold an extra lithium battery, or up to six AA batteries in a pinch, adds convenience, particularly during extended shooting sessions where battery life is crucial. The overall aesthetics and feel of the camera are markedly improved, with users commenting that it makes their setup look more 'professional'. However, while the added weight and bulk of the grip may be a trade-off, most users agree that the advantages far outweigh any downsides. Although some individuals have faced technical issues, particularly with the camera freezing when the grip is attached, such instances seem to be exceptions rather than the rule. Despite these isolated experiences, the vast majority of users feel that the D-BG6 grip is an invaluable accessory, especially for photographers who prefer shooting in portrait orientation or who rely on additional battery capacity while shooting. ###
