The four-stage filtration system includes dense floss to remove particles and debris, activated carbon to remove toxins, odors and discoloration, patented Bio-Holster to remove toxic ammonia and nitrites, and a diffuser grid to remove additional toxins while adding oxygen to the water. The large cartridge measures 5 1/4 x 1/2 x 7 inch and is designed to fit Aqueon filters only. According to customer feedback, these filter cartridges work well and are easy to use and change. However, there are some concerns about how long they last, with some customers needing to change them weekly. There are also complaints about the package quality and a slight increase in price compared to other brands. Additionally, there are complaints that the filters are prone to molding quickly, making them unhealthy for aquariums.
