Genre Fiction Editorial Review
Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood presents a spicy twist on conventional romance, characterized by its emotionally intense characters and a unique narrative style. The story centers around Eli and Rue, whose complex romance is influenced by their individual psychological struggles. Eli's brooding exterior masks his deep feelings for Rue, whose social anxieties add layers to their relationship dynamics. While the story's plot has some uneven moments, the explicit spice and chemistry between the characters make for an engaging read that delves into themes of love amidst personal strife. The dual narration in the audiobook provides an interesting perspective, although some may find the character voice changes less enjoyable.
