Rabbits Editorial Review
** The Green Ember** "The Green Ember" by S.D. Smith has garnered a glowing reception from readers since its release, particularly appealing to families and young readers from 3rd grade and up. The story follows two young rabbits, Heather and Picket, who are thrust into an epic battle of good versus evil, navigating a rich tapestry of courage, betrayal, and friendship. Readers have expressed their delight in the depth of character development and the engaging plot, drawing favorable comparisons to beloved series like "Redwall," "The Hobbit," and works by C.S. Lewis. Many reviewers highlighted the book’s ability to capture attention, particularly when read aloud, making it a perfect choice for family bonding time. The storytelling, seasoned with a balance of adventure and moral lessons about loyalty, integrity, and courage, resonates with both younger children and adult readers alike. Several readers noted that the story, while rooted in a fantastical world of sword-wielding rabbits, transcends its genre, evoking themes reminiscent of classic children's literature. Despite some initial hesitations with the slow pace at the beginning, many found that once the action unfolds, the narrative becomes captivating. The lush illustrations and the inclusion of a detailed map were also praised, enhancing the reading experience. Readers of "The Green Ember" have expressed eagerness for a sequel, recognizing the profound impact of Smith's writing, which speaks to the imagination and moral development of its audience. Overall, "The Green Ember" has shown itself to be much more than just a children's book; it is a heartfelt journey that encourages readers to embrace their inner hero while enchanting them with its world and characters. **
