Die meisten krankheitserregenden Bakterien können im natürlich sauren Milieu der Vagina nicht überleben. Normalerweise liegt der pH-Wert der Vagina zwischen 3,8 und 4,5. Leider sind Vaginalinfektionen weit verbreitet und können bei Frauen jeden Alters wiederkehrende Probleme darstellen.
- Ein Ungleichgewicht der vaginalen Bakterienflora kann zu einem Anstieg des pH-Werts führen und eine bakterielle Vaginose, auch Vaginalkatarrh genannt, verursachen. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Infektion der Vagina, die zu einem übel riechenden Genitalbereich und unterschiedlicher Farbe und Konsistenz des Ausflusses führen kann. Eine unbehandelte bakterielle Vaginose kann zu Komplikationen führen und erfordert manchmal medizinische Versorgung.
- Unser Vaginal-pH-Test wird mithilfe eines Probenentnahmestabs durchgeführt, der in die Vagina eingeführt wird, um eine Probe zu entnehmen. Wenn der Probenentnahmestab mit dem pH-Papier auf dem Testfeld in Berührung kommt, ändert sich die Farbe.
