- Born with a very low IQ, Charlie is a perfect candidate for scientists to perform experimental surgery that will increase intelligence. This experiment was tested on a laboratory mouse named Algernon and was a great success. After the surgery, Charlie's condition begins to be monitored with the reports he writes in his diary.
