Fayton, bir süvari alayının gelişinin değiştirdiği bir kasabada yaşananları konu edinen bir hiciv. Bugün okurlar tarafından Palto adıyla bilinen ve pek çok yazarı etkilemiş olan Kaputta ise, küçük memur Akakiy Akakiyeviç'in hem komik hem hüzünlü hikayesine tanık oluyoruz.
