- Türkiye Üzerine Tezler serisinin ilk üç cildinde birbirinden sarsıcı tezler öne süren Yalçın Küçük, dördüncü ciltte Türkiye'nin ekonomi-politiğine odaklanıyor ve Eylül 1980 öncesi ve sonrasının röntgenini çekiyor. Dönemin Cumhuriyet gazetesinde yayımlanan yazılarının ana omurgayı oluşturduğu kitabında, 70'lerin başından 80'lerin sonuna kadarki süreçte Türkiye'deki sermaye-işçi, devlet-işçi ikililerini değerlendiriyor ve CHP'den ANAP'a uzanan serüveninde ülkenin iş bilmez idareciler tarafından gün geçtikçe nasıl yönetilemez hale geldiğini anlatıp yapılan hataları dile getiriyor. Beş bölümden oluşan kitapta, Küçük'ün kendi ifadesiyle belirtmek gerekirse, tekelciliği kapitalizmden öne çıkaran ve bazı temel yönleriyle karşısına koyan ilk formülasyonu kaleme alıyor.
